BARUERI TOWER 500: e-DAU team members look skyward

Na área central do pujante município paulista de Barueri, Brasil, na 'Praça dos Estudantes' e ao lado da Câmara Municipal, membros da e-DAU - arquitetos e urbanistas Bruno Roberto Padovano, Eduardo Soveral e Fábio Alzate Martinez - propõem uma torre de comunicações junto ao especialista em telecomunicações, engenheiro Eduardo Bicudo, diretor executivo da empresa EBCOM, que estudou a região e detectou problemas nas transmissões. Trata-se da Torre Barueri 500, uma estrutura multiuso de 350 metros de altura (a maior estrutura na América Latina) e cerca 30 mil metros quadrados de área construída, que será proposta ao governo municipal após as futuras eleições municipais, para ser totalmente financiada pelo setor privado em terreno público mediante PPP - Parceria Público Privada. A intermediação será da associação sem fins econômicos 'Instituto de Ciências, Tecnologia e Inovação para o Desenho Avançado IDEA', representando o terceiro setor. Os 500 se referem à data de criação do primeiro núcleo colonial no local (1560), o quinto aniversário do qual será celebrado neste século, em 2064, ou seja, meio milênio.

It constitutes the Barueri 500 Tower, a 350 meters-high mix use tower (the highest structure in Latin America) with a built area of 30 thousand sq. meters, which will be proposed to the municipal government after the upcoming municipal elections, to be totally financed by the private sector on public land by means of a PPP - Public Private Partnership. The intermediation will be by the 'Institute of Sciences, Technology and Innovation for Advanced Design IDEA', representing the third sector. The 500 refer to the date of criation of the first colonial nucleus in Barueri (1560), he fifth anniversary of which will be celebrated this century, in 2064, that is, a half of a millenium.
