Patrícia O'Reilly donates the design of the new headquarters of the Instituto Favela da Paz

Num gesto que denota grande espírito humanitário, a Consultora em Arquitetura e Urbanismo Sustentáveis da rede e-DAU, Patrícia O'Reilly, elaborou e doou o projeto para a nova sede de 'Instituto Favela da Paz', no Jardim Nakamura, em São Paulo, Brasil, cujo lema é "Servir Para o Mundo que Sonhamos...Cosmos, Regenerar e Integrar Projetando".
Conforme a arquiteta relata: "Projetar o edifício do 'Instituto da Favela da Paz', uma causa tão nobre, nos encheu de perspectivas e abriu novos horizontes na arte da arquitetura que tem como objeto central abrigar pessoas em um espaço criado por pessoas. Seres que habitam o mesmo endereço no cosmos. Para que o projeto fosse completo, ele deveria atender as expectativas deste Instituto tão singular. Precisávamos ir além e nos interligarmos com aquela realidade. O edifício deveria se conectar com aquela comunidade e ser capaz de dar voz às suas necessidades e anseios para que a transformação tivesse bases sólidas para acontecer. Nossa missão era trazer para o mundo da arquitetura matérias que, somadas ao desenho, pudessem fazer nascer para o mundo o reconhecimento que aquelas pessoas buscavam. Entramos nos universos da tecnologia, arte e design para projetar de forma não impactante e com zero toxicidade. Fizemos uma imersão na comunidade e vivenciamos o sonho da integração e regeneração do ser. Aprendemos que com nada é possível fazer tudo e com muito respeito nos demos ao direito de oferecer a aquelas pessoas o que recebemos, paz e amor. Recriamos então, para o Instituto o seu micro cosmo, um edifício vivo, povoado por um conteúdo visceral, cultural, tecnológico, gastronômico, ecológico, artístico e funcional. Criamos arquitetura, arte, mobiliário urbano e design com tecnologia digital para atender aos anseios desse Instituto que pode mudar o mundo interior de cada um de nós. O edifício já existia, era a casa do pai de Claudinho e Fabio, que aos 9 anos de idade militavam pela paz na favela, e buscavam através da música pacificar o seu entorno. Cresceram junto com a casa que ia subindo os níveis para abrigar os projetos de música, alimentação vegana, tecnologia e esporte. Fizeram shows, o que ganhavam investiam nos próprios projetos e cada cômodo da casa foi abrigando cada vez mais pessoas ansiosas por saber, por crescer, por aprender e por ser. Hoje, este edifício onde tudo começou já não tem capacidade para atender toda a comunidade e precisa de mais, precisam voar. O projeto arquitetônico da nova sede do Instituto em um terreno também doado, faz uma decodificação da "caoticidade" da realidade da casa onde hoje é o lar de todos e também o Instituto, ele preserva a organização arquitetônica existente e de forma livre conecta oito volumes construídos em madeira, desordenados através de passarelas que sobem e descem e oferecem em seu uso os programas que desenvolvem neste núcleo de metamorfoses interpessoais que é o 'Instituto Favela da Paz'."

In a gesture which denotes great humanitarian spirit, the Consultant of Sustainable Architecture and Urbanism of the e-DAU network, Patrícia O'Reilly, developed and donated the design for a new headquarters for the
'Favela of Peace Institute', located in the Nakamura Garden in São Paulo, Brazil, the motto of which is "To Seve for the World We Dream About....Cosmos, Regenerate and Integrate by Design".
As the architect explains: "To design the building of the 'Favela of Peace Institute', such a noble cause, filled us with perspectives and opened new horizons in the art of architecture which have as a central objecive to house people in a space created by people. Human beings who inhabit the same address in the cosmos. In order that the design could be complete, it should meet the expectations of this very unique Institute. we needed to go beyond and interrelate ourselves with that reality. The building should connect with that community and be able to give voice to their needs and aspirations so that transformation might have solid bases to occur. Our mission was to bring to the world of architecture materials which, added to the design, could bring about the birth to the world of the recognition that those people looked for. We entered the realm of technology, art and design to design in a non impacting manner and with zero toxicity. We became immersed into the community and we experienced the dream of integration and regeneration of the self. We learnt that with nothing it is possible to do anything and with great respect we gave ourselves the right to offer to those people what we received: peace and love. We recreated, then, for the Institute and its micro-cosmos, a living building, populated with a visceral, cultural, technological, gastronomic, ecologic, artistic and functional content. We created architecture, art, urban furniture, and digital technological design to meet the aspirations of this Institute which can change the inner world of each one of us. the building already existed, it was the house of Claudinho and Fabio, who at the age of 9 were activists for peace in the favela, and attempted through music to pacify its surroundings. they grew with the house that was rising floor by floor to shelter the musical projects, the vegan diet, technology and sports. They did shows, and what they earnt they invested in their projects and each room in the house was increasingly sheltering people anxious to gain knowledge, to grow, to learn and to exist. Today, this building where it all began doesn't have the capacity to meet the demands of the whole community and it needs more, to be able to fly. The architectural design of the new headquarters of the Institute on an also donated site, decodifies the "chaoticity" of the reality of the house which now is the home of everyone and also of the Institute, preserving the existing architectural organization and, freely, connects the eight volumes built in wood, disorganized by means of elevated walkways which go up and down and offer in their use the programs which they develop in this nucleus of interpersonal metamorphoses which is the "Favela of Peace Institute".
