Nelson Fiedler is a new Counselor of e-DAU

O engenheiro civil brasileiro, Nelson Fiedler, uma autoridade em projetos de estruturas ténseis e CEO da 'FIEDLER Engenharia', parceira da rede, assumiu o cargo de Conselheiro da e-DAU, a convite da sua Presidência e seu Conselho. Tendo se especializado na área específica de sistemas tensionados para diversos tipos de aplicações, e tendo como referência e sendo amigos de dois gênios - o engenheiro alemão, Frei Otto, e o arquiteto brasileiro Oscar Niemeyer -, Nelson Fiedler desenvolveu uma técnica característica para seus projetos e obras que lhe rendeu fama nacional no Brasil e agora também no exterior. Entre centenas de obras construídas ao longo de sua carreira brilhante, ele foi responsável pelos projetos e construção de coberturas em estruturas tênseis para três estádios da Copa Do Mundo (2014), como o renomado Estádio Maracanã no Rio de Janeiro, o Paddock da Fórmula 1 em Interlagos, São Paulo, e inúmeros palcos para shows como o 'Rock in Rio' e terminais de transporte urbano e metropolitano, pelo Brasil afora. Com sua fábrica instalada em Guarujá e seu amor pelo mar, como velejador e surfista, Nelson tem entre seus filhos um outro exímio projetista de estruturas ténseis, formado no ambiente criativo de sua família: Nicolas Fiedler. Juntos, pai e filho estão fazendo a engenharia estrutural brasileira elevar-se para um patamar mais elevado no plano tecnológico e estético. É uma honra para a e-DAU contar com a colaboração de uma dupla tão inovadora, levando-nos para projetos como o do pavilhão "Águas Flutuantes", a ser exibido na Bienal de Arquitetura de Veneza (17ª edição, em 2021).

The Brazilian civil engineer, Nelson Fiedler, an authority in the design of tensile structures and CEO of 'FIEDLER Engineering', partner of the network, took over the position of Counselor of e-DAU, at the invitation of its Presidency and Council. Having specialized himself in the specific area of tensioned systems for different kinds of applications, and having as reference and being friends to two geniuses - the German engineer, Frei Otto, and the Brazilian architect, Oscar Niemeyer -, Nelson Fiedler developed a characteristic technique for his design and works which has earned him national fame in Brazil and now abroad too. Amongst hundreds of built works in his brilliant career, he was responsible for the design and construction of tensile structure roofs for three stadiums of the World Cup (2014), such as the renowned Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, the Formula 1 Paddock in Interlagos, São Paulo, and numberless stages for shows such as 'Rock in Rio' and urban and metropolitan transportation terminals, throughout Brazil.
With his factory installed in Guarujá, SP, Brazil, and his love for the sea - as both sailor and surfer -, Nelson has amongst his sons another excellent designer of tensile structures, grown up in the creative environment of his family: Nicolas Fiedler. Together, father and son are making Brazilian estructural engineering elevate itself to a higher technological and esthetic threshold. It is an honour for e-DAU to count on the collaboration of such an innovative duo, taking us all the way to the design of the "Floating Waters" pavilion, to be exhibited atthe Venice Architecture Biannual Venice (17th edition, in 2021).
