e-DAU Architect and Urbanist, Victor Chinaglia, designs a neighbourhood for the 'Strong Arm' Cooperative

Entre os projetos atualmente em estudo pelos membros da e-DAU, destacamos o importante trabalho social do colega arquiteto e urbanista Victor Chinaglia para a Cooperativa 'Braço Forte', ativa desde 25/02/2012. Victor estuda, atualmente, junto a outros membros da equipe, a implantação de um novo bairro em Cosmópolis, SP, Brasil (pop. aprox. 70 mil), em terreno da COOPHESP - Cooperativa Pró-habitação do Estado de São Paulo, que deverá hospedar aproximadamente 900 moradores. O projeto será um 'pedaço da cidade', como bem definiu Victor: além de moradias erguidas pelos cooperados da cooperativa 'Braço Forte', incluirá áreas comerciais, espaços para o lazer, para o trabalho comunitário (hortas, piscicultura, etc.) e start-ups de moradores de baixa renda, com o desejo de sua integração com a cidade de Cosmópolis, na Região Metropolitana de Campinas (pop. aprox. de 3,5 milhões). O projeto incluirá uma torre de retransmissão posicionada na parte alta do terreno, junto a um espaço para eventos e polo de atividades comerciais, com uma vista panorâmica dos morros que cercam a cidade e outras como Americana (onde o colega Chinaglia reside e trabalha) e Paulínia, em forte expansão. Amongst the projects currently under study by e-DAU members, we highlight the important social work of the colleague architect and urbanist Victor Chinaglia for the 'Strong Arm' Cooperative, active since 25/02/2012. Victor studies, currently, together with other members of the team, the implementation of a new neighbourhood in Cosmópolis, SP, Brazil (pop. approx. 70 thousand), on a site of the COOPHESP - Pro-Housing Cooperative of the State of São Paulo, which will house approximately 900 dwellers. The project will constitute a 'piece of the city', as well defined by Victor: besides housing to be built by the cooperated of the 'Strong Arm' cooperative, it will include commercial areas, recreational spaces, those for community work (community gardens, fish farming, etc.) and start-ups by low income inhabitants, with the desire of their integration with the city of Cosmópolis, in the Metropolitan Region of Campinas (pop. approx. 3,5 millions). The design will include a retransmission tower located on the higher ground of the site, together with a space for events and a commercial hub, with a panoramic view of the hills surrounding the city and others, such as Americana (where the colleague Chinaglia lives and works) and Paulínia, in great expansion.
